Nightlife Harm Reduction

Crew provide Nightlife Harm Reduction at clubs and festivals to keep people safe and well by offering welfare, advice, harm reduction information and immediate crisis support. Our highly trained staff and volunteers deliver one to one support using active listening, brief interventions, motivational interviewing and violence reduction techniques, and we work collaboratively with security, paramedics and the police.

We also provide Outreach in schools, colleges, universities and youth club settings. These tailored opportunities for staff and students contribute to developing effective education. We can cover many topics including: strategies for evaluating and negotiating risks, risk taking behaviour, drug harm reduction, sources of help and support, work specific to individuals’ experiences of drug use, self-esteem, challenging stigma and isolation.

Nightlife Harm Reduction

  • Education and advice – free harm reduction and health promotion information and resources on drugs including alcohol and sexual health
  • Chill out – seating area for people to relax, take a break and hydrate
  • Welfare lie-down area – 24-hour non-medical crisis intervention and monitoring (referring on to paramedic services where appropriate)
