What is G?
Both GHB and GBL are depressant drugs with effects reported as similar to being drunk from alcohol. They are acidic and need to be dissolved. As they are both colourless, they cannot be told apart by appearance, and therefore drug checking is especially important.
What are the effects?
Typical effects can include:
- Euphoria
- Increased sex drive
- Decreased inhibitions
- Relaxation of muscles
- Nausea
At higher doses, it can lead to:
- Loss of balance
- Loss of coordination
- Memory loss
- Unconsciousness and coma-like sleep
- Fatal overdose
Dosage
Harm Reduction
-
Test before you ingest: Try to use a drug checking service to verify what drug you have. Remember they won’t be able to confirm the dose strength so it is important to…
-
Take a lower test dose before each session (0.5mL diluted in 100mL of juice avoid alcohol)
-
Look out for other people: check in on who you are with, make sure you have a plan to get home safe and see if you have a (sober) friend that can help.
-
Put food colouring into your drink, if it contains any drug, and label your drink to avoid anyone accidentally mistaking it for a regular drink.
-
Never leave your drink unattended or drink something that you didn’t pour for yourself.
-
If in doubt, about the contents of your cup, empty it and make another one.
