Anyone’s Child and Transform are bringing their thought-provoking event series, Take Drugs Seriously to Edinburgh. Crew will be sitting on a excellent panel of speakers to discuss key issues around how we can prevent drug-related deaths. The event takes place on the 11th May 2023 from 18:30-21:30 at St John’s Scottish Episcopal Church and is free to attend.
Scotland sees around 100 drug-related deaths per month with our drug-related death rate having pushed record levels for a number of years. This event aims to open a discussion around alternative approaches to responding to drugs and drug use. What could a new approach to drugs mean for Scotland, for Edinburgh, our families and communities?
Our CEO Emma Crawshaw will be joining families affected by drug-taking, ex-police, other people providing treatment or support and politicians on the panel. The event will kick off with a panel discussion followed by a Q&A chaired by Anyone’s Child Deputy CEO, Jane Slater.
The Speakers:
Alison Crocket, Head of Whole Systems Unit, Drug Policy Division, Scottish Government
Dr Saket Priyadarshi, Associate Medical Director at Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services
Emma Crawshaw, Chief Executive Officer, Crew 2000
